It is harvest time and Sam get her wagon and she heads for the pumpkin patch. She soon finds a very little pumpkin and then a fat one. Then she sees two more “under a vine, / playing peekaboo.” Carefully Sam loads the four pumpkins into her wagon. Then she adds four more and then eight more.

Now Sam has sixteen pumpkins in her wagon, which is jam packed. Now it is time to get her pumpkins home. Sam pulls and pulls, and then the wagon tips over and then pumpkins roll down a hill.

In this charming seasonal story readers will meet a hard working young raccoon who has a little pumpkin trouble. With its cleverly written rhyming verse and its colorful artwork, this is a perfect book to share with young children, especially during pumpkin season.
