A little girl, her brother, and her grandmother - her Abuelita - are going to the zoo today. Abuelita speaks in Spanish, and when they see two squirrels outside the gates of the zoo, she points at the squirrels and counts, telling her little grandchildren that “uno, dos means one and two.” Inside the zoo Abuelita and the children visit the polar bears. Again, Abuelita counts. She tells the children that there are tres, or three, bears.

With a simple text, charmingly childlike illustrations, and an easy-to-follow format, this counting book with help children to practice counting both in English and in Spanish.
