The days are getting shorter and Old Man Winter comes to tell “his big bear friend” that it is time for Big Bear to go to sleep. “Sleep, Big Bear, sleep,” Old Man Winter says, but unfortunately Big Bear cannot hear very well and he thinks he hears the words “Drive a jeep, Big bear, drive a jeep.” Feeling very sleepy, Big Bear drives a jeep around, leaving chaos in his wake. Old Man Winter whispers his message again, but Big Bear still does not hear what he is being told, thinking that the Old Man Winter is telling him to “Sweep, Big Bear, sweep.”

Accompanied by his faithful friend - a hare - Big Bear tries to do what Old Man Winter says, making one mistake after another with comic results.

Young readers will love this funny picture book with its rhyming sing song text and its delightful illustrations. With expressive characters and a perfect ending, this is a picture book that children will enjoy reading again and again.
