For many children, visiting a farm is a grand adventure. There are machines to admire, animals to look at and perhaps pet, barns and stables to explore, hay ricks to climb, and so much more.
Of course, being able to visit a farm isn’t always easy to do and so Jonathan Litton has created this wonderful novelty title that takes children to a bookish farm. On this farm they will be able to open more than fifty flaps to learn about all kinds of farm-centric things.
We begin out farm visit with the chickens, an essential farm animal. Children will learn many facts about chickens, they will get to guess how many chicks there are in a henhouse, and then they will get to find out if they have guessed the right number. On the opposite page they will get to guess which animals make a variety of farm animal noises.
Next we move on to meet the cows, and we learn how much milk a cow makes, what cows eat and more. There is also a spot the difference activity to complete, and a corn maze to find our way through.
The author of this interesting and entertaining book goes on to offer children activities about colors, farm machinery, the food that is grown and produced on a farm, pigs, opposites, sheep, numbers, horses, and barn and barnyard animals.
This is a book that children will enjoy exploring again and again.
