Nancy Willard

  Nancy Willard is the author of two novels, twelve books of poetry, numerous children's books, and a collection of essays on writing, Telling Time: Angels, Ancestors, and Stories (Harcourt). She has edited one anthology of poems, Step Lightly: Poems for the Journey (Harcourt).
  Her most recent collection of poems is In the Salt Marsh (Knopf). Her most recent books for young people are Cinderella’s Dress (Scholastic) and The Tale of Paradise Lost (Atheneum).
  She has been awarded grants from the National Endowment for the Arts in both fiction and poetry. Her collection of poems for children, A Visit to William Blake’s Inn: Poems for Innocent and Experienced Travelers, was the first poetry book to win the Newbery Medal. She teaches in the English Department at Vassar College.
