This is an account of what it is like to live through a hurricane as seen through the eyes of a little child. Young readers will learn that hurricanes are big storms that come ?from the ocean.? Hurricanes bring lots and wind and rain with them and when they hit people often lose power. It is often a frightening time and people have to become creative preparing their meals and finding things to do.

When Hurricane Katrina had done her worst and left the coastal regions it had damaged, many children were left homeless. Many other children around the country wanted to know what it was like to live through a hurricane. Here is a title which will answer many of their questions and which will help them understand what the children in Louisiana and Texas went through. The book also carries in it a message of hope, using humor to help children see that all is not lost even if one?s home is gone.

The author not only has made her book bilingual, but she has also created some wonderful collage illustrations which children will be able to appreciate and identify with.
