Young children love being able to be a part of a story, to participate in a narrative. The more they can participate, the better. For this charming and interactive novelty title, Taro Gomi has created wonderfully colorful paintings that have a die cut hole on every spread. The holes allow children to make one of their fingers a part of the simple descriptive narrative.
For example, on the first spread we see a pink cat walking across a green background. The text tells us "The cat wiggles her tail." Where the cat's tail should be there is a hole. All children have to do is to stick a finger through the hole and then wiggle it so that their finger becomes the cat's tail.
In addition to wiggling the cat's tail, children can turn their fingers into a swinging elephant's trunk, a deer's antlers, a pecking penguin's beak, a crocodile's fang, a snake's rattle, a chameleon's tongue, and a seagull's flapping wings.
This book is perfect for little children who have a hard time keeping still when they are looking at a book. Thanks to Taro Gomi, they can wiggle away to their heart's content.
