All over the world, animals are planting trees, and they don’t even realize what they are doing. How does this happen? In the fall a squirrel buries an acorn, and from this an oak tree grows. High in the sky a migrating goose has a chestnut burr stuck to her feathers, and when this burr falls to the ground it sprouts into a chestnut tree. Busy ants carry a pine nut underground and in time this grows into a pine tree.
This simple yet meaningful book beautifully shows how animals inadvertently plant trees as they eat, travel, and gather food. With beautifully detailed and rich illustrations throughout, the narrative makes nature’s magic accessible to young children.
