Snow is wonderful stuff. It is wonderful to play in, it changes the landscape, and it is beautiful to look at. Do you know what snow is though? Do you know how it is created and why it is white? Do you know why snow muffles sounds and why it squeaks when you walk on it? Why is snow more slippery – and better for sliding on – than grass?

These and many other interesting questions are answered in this engaging and educational seasonal title. The illustrations shows children enjoying a snowy day outdoors and a simple narrative captures the joy that the children are experiencing as they sled, makes snow angels, and look at snowflakes. Then, in addition to the basic narrative, the author also answers a lot of questions about snow and related topics. The book can therefore be enjoyed on several levels for the basic narrative is perfect for very young children and then the questions and answers sections of the book can be enjoyed by older children. The answers to the questions are cleverly hidden under folded pages which children will enjoy opening up and examining.
