It is springtime and Big Nutbrown Hare and Little Nutbrown Hare are out and about hopping around. Big Nutbrown Hare shows his little son how things are growing all around him. A little acorn will be a "mighty tree" one day. A tiny "wriggly" tadpole will grow up to be a frog. A funny looking little caterpillar will turn into a lovely butterfly.

Then Little Nutbrown Hare asks Big Nutbrown Hare what he will change into as time passes. After all, everything else seems to change and grow. At first Big Nutbrown Hare is stumped by the question, but then he comes up with the perfect answer; an answer which delights them both.

Featuring the duo who starred in the acclaimed book "Guess How Much I Love You," this charming board book explores the idea that every living thing changes and grows with the passage of time. Even Little Nutbrown Hares become something else when they grow up. Children who are puzzled or worried by the fact that nothing stays the same will find this story informative and comforting. After all, the process that turns a caterpillar into a lovely butterfly surely must be a good thing. Maybe they too will turn into something beautiful and special when they get "big."
