Our world is packed full of descriptive words, many of which help us to explain ourselves. In addition, they enrich our connection with our environment and each other. For very young children learning a few basic prepositions is often the first step in their descriptive word journey.

In this beautiful book the author takes her young audience into the sea where they dip their head under the water to learn some simple prepositions such as bottom, top, out, and in.  On the first spread they see seaweed that “sways at the bottom of the ocean,” and on the next they encounter a crab that “crawls on top of the rock.”

In every instance the prepositions are paired with beautiful adjectives such as “sways,” “crawls,” and “wiggles.” In addition, the detailed and lush artwork created by Tom Leonard gives children so much to look at, and they will marvel at the wonderful things that they see on the pages of this book.
