One snowy day a little girl looks out of the window and she sees tracks in the snow leading off somewhere. She just has to find out who made the tracks and where they go so she puts on her coat, her mittens, her scarf, and her boots and she goes outside to see what she can find.

Out into the yard, through the gate and out into the countryside she goes. The marks are “too big to be a rabbit” and bears and woodchucks are asleep. Ducks have flown away for the winter. So what could have made these mysterious tracks? “Could it be a fox, a dog?/ Maybe a squirrel or a kitten?”

Young children will love this mini mystery with its soft and atmospheric illustrations and its snowy landscapes full of hidden creatures. A gently rhyming text perfectly compliments the artwork and the surprise ending is sure to bring forth a smile or two.
