Many little children, once they understand that everything in our world has a name, have an insatiable thirst to know what everything is called. Grownups are called upon to name things everywhere they go as their child, like a little sponge, absorbs new words all day long.

This wonderful board book gives little children the opportunity to learn the names of all kinds of everyday things that they see as they go about their day. Each page focuses on words in one particular category.

The categories in the book are: the toys one might find in a toy box; pets that “live in a house;” food items that “we like to munch / for breakfast, dinner, snacks, and lunch;” things we might see in a park; vehicles that move in the air, on the ground, and in water; wild animals that call the jungle their home; clothes that “keep us covered, comfy, and warm;” things you might see on a farm; family members that “come in all shapes and sizes; and the things that we see or use at bedtime.

Each page includes two lines of rhyming verse, and lots of annotated illustrations, and every spread includes a textured surface to touch with little fingers.

Little children will enjoy exploring this book with their grownups, and will go on to practice naming things for themselves as they turn the pages.
