More and more households are making recycling a part of their lives. After all, it is easy to do and recycling helps to keep our planet cleaner and greener.

In this Teenie Greenie title, the author shows little readers how to sort recyclables, clean out bottles and jars, and then take them to the curb for pick up. Then she shows her audience what happens to the cans and bottles when they arrive at the recycling center. We see how paper is shredded and mixed, and metal and plastic is sorted and melted or crushed. Best of all we learn that many of these recyclables are turned into “something new.”

Paper, plastic, bottles, and cans are not the only things we can recycle. We can also recycle paint and ink, among other things. Then there are the things that we can reuse.

This excellent little board book, with its rhyming text, charming artwork, and lift-the-flaps, is a perfect book to share with young children so that they can learn how to be an environmentally responsible person.
