Little Duck is looking for something very special indeed; he is looking for "an egg that?s made of GOLD!" As he goes about the garden and the fields, the woodland and by the stream he meets all sorts of animals who help him in his search. Indeed they help him find any number of beautiful eggs. There is a blue one, a "ruby red" one, a purple one in a field full of lambs, a pink one carried by a swan, a brilliant green one under a tree, and the Easter bunnies offer Little Duck a basket full of glittery silver eggs.
And yet Little Duck still wants to find a solid gold egg. A bunny tells Little Duck that he must go and visit a Golden Goose to find such an egg. When Little Duck finds the goose he learns that a solid gold egg really wouldn?t be that good a thing to have. After all, a solid gold egg isn?t made of delicious chocolate but Easter Eggs are.
This beautifully illustrated book with fold outs to open and foil inserts to exclaim over, is a wonderful Easter tale with a simple message and a charming rhyming text which will appeal to young children.
