One day Sophie and Luke were looking out of the window when they saw an enormous foot at the top of a hill – or at least Sophie saw the foot. Luke did not see anything. Nor did he see the hand that followed. But he did see the face when that appeared. And he was pretty scared too. Anyone would be, because the monster that went with the face was enormous.

The monster introduced itself as the Big Green Monster and from this large, but very friendly creature, Sophie and Luke found out that there are monsters living in their homes. There is a monster that inhabits the closet, and one that lives under the bed. There is also one in the cellar. Are these monsters going to be as nice as the Big Green Monster?

With flaps to lift and several pop-ups to enjoy, this simple little story is sure to entertain young readers. Children will be amused to see that some of the monsters seem to be made up of everyday objects – at least in part.
