Leaves are falling off the trees, the pumpkins in the fields are golden, and the air has a chill to it. Fall is here and Squirrel has to get ready for winter. As he goes about collecting food, Squirrel’s friends ask him to join them. Mouse wants Squirrel to “nibble some pumpkin, Bird wants him to “rest on a branch,” and Cat wants him to lie in the sun with her and her kittens. Squirrel is far too busy though, he has to gather enough food so that his winter larder is full.
