For some time now, Georgia Nicolson has been an advocate of the “glaciosity” policy when it comes to boys. She believes an aloof attitude is the secret to her success with members of the opposite sex. At the moment, however, she is “once more on the rack of romance” and “in the oven of luuurve” and on her way “to the bakery of pain.” Masimo the Italian Stallion is still very much Georgia’s favorite boy, and in a moment of weakness she tells him that she wants to be his “one and only.”
For days, Georgie has to wait to hear what Masimo’s answer is going to be. Will he want Georgia to be his girlfriend or won’t he? To make things even more complicated, Dave the Laugh says, “what if we really should have been together.” What does he mean? Does he wish that they, Georgia and Dave, were meant to be a couple? It is all too confusing.
One day late, Masimo tells Georgia that he really isn’t ready for a relationship, but he does suggest that they should be “mates.” Mates! Is this what life has come to? Are all the decent boys going to want to be her friend, her mate?
In this hilarious continuation of Georgia’s confessions, Georgia once more bumbles about making grave and side-splitting errors in love that will leave readers roaring with laughter. If you don’t want people to think that you are totally looney, read this book while you are in a soundproof room. A closet would do in a pinch.
What is interesting about this seventh book in the series is the fact that Georgia, who is exceptionally self-centered, actually shows us that she is capable of being sensitive and caring. She may be a twit when it comes to boys, but she does have some redeeming qualities. Who knew!
