The world is full of colorful and fascinating creatures. On land, in the water, and in the air, big and small animals beautify our world with their brightly colored bodies and wings.

In this stunningly illustrated board book, we meet six very different animals. We begin on a beach where, we are told, a “speedy little animal runs sideways.” We are asked “Can you spot the red animal?” and we can see that there is something red behind the stems of greenery. When we lift the flap, we see a cunning little red crab with stalked eyes standing on the sand.

Later in the book we are invited to find a green animal. We learn that it is “Smooth and scaly” and that it likes to be active at night and sleep during the day. We can see a yellow eye looking at us through a hole in a large tropical looking leaf. When we lift the flap, we see a snake around a tree branch.

With gorgeous cut paper artwork on every spread, this book gives little children clues to help them guess what the six animals featured in the book are. The clues tell us something about the animal and its habits, and we can appreciate how beautiful they are with their gorgeous reds, oranges, yellows, greens, blues, and purples.
