When they wake up one winter morning a little boy and his even littler sister are delighted to see that it has snowed in the night. In fact it has snowed so much that school is closed; it is an official "snow day" and there is only one thing to do on such a day - have a snowball fight.

In no time the boy and his sister are outside, bundled up in snowsuits, boots, hats, mittens and scarves. The boy gets down to the serious business of getting ready for a snowball fight. A fort is built and snowballs are stockpiled.

At last the battle begins and though things start off well, after a time the boy runs out of snowballs and his fort starts looking decidedly the worse for wear. The boy then gets some unexpected and very useful help from an unexpected quarter - his little sister.

This is a wonderful celebration of snow days and of the joys of a real, honest-to-goodness snowball fight. Older siblings will be wise to note that younger sisters and brothers can be very valuable when the snowballs start to fly and that it pays not to be complacent when a snowball wielding little brother or sister is around.
