Recently back from New York City, Cyd Charisse is eager to get back together with the love of her life, Shrimp. The only problem is that Shrimp is not around. In fact, he is on the other side of the world surfing and having the time of his life. Cyd cannot help being put out by this. How dare her ex have a wonderful time when he should be missing her and feeling lost instead?
Trying to come to terms with her San Francisco life once more, Cyd quite accidentally does something she has never done before, she makes friends with some girls her own age. She discovers that she is not the only one to have doubts about the future, to have parent problems, and to have a complicated love life.
When Shrimp finally comes home, Cyd hopes that things will go back to being the way they were, but she soon discovers that this is not to be. So much has changed since they were last together. In fact, She and Shrimp almost have to start all over, talking into consideration the fact that they have both grown in unexpected ways.
Continuing the story begun in Gingerbread, this delightful teen title is funny, poignant, and memorable. Listeners will laugh over the pickles Cyd Charisse gets into, and they will nod wisely as they hear about the incredible discoveries that she stumbles across.
