Short Stuffs: Create Your Own No-Sew Stuff Animals
Novelty Craft Kit
For ages 4 to 6
Chicken Socks, 2008 ISBN: 978-1591745280
Often little children want to make their own stuffed toy friends but it is hard to for them to do this because they don't know how to sew and are not allowed to use sharp needles or scissors. This terrific little kit makes it possible for young children to make their own stuffed creatures because there is no sewing involved at all.
The kit includes the bodies of two basic animals and little pillows to stuff them. Then there is a collection of felt tails, arms, wings, beaks, mouths, and ears that stick onto the bodies with Velcro. Children can make a monkey, a mouse, a bunny, a bird, a dog, a cat, or a monster using the felt pieces to get the effect they are looking for.
Simple instructions - with lots of photographs – can be found in the accompanying book. In addition to the section about the short stuffs, the editors of the book include suggestions on how one can make other no-sew animals using ordinary gloves. Now you know what to do with all those orphaned gloves whose partner has been lost!
This kit would make a wonderful gift for a young child who loves to make things.
