Babies and toddlers learn so much by watching what others do. They copy their siblings, their grownups, and even their pets. They are excellent mimics, especially when the person – or animal – that they are copying is doing something fun and active.

In this charming little board book we meet nine dogs who are all doing something that involves an action. Some of these actions are very lively, while others are quieter.

Children will see Isis the French bulldog walking, and Archie jumping. Ziggy is rolling over, which he seems to enjoy doing. All we see of Kobu is a wagging tail. Children might not have a tail to wag but they will probably have fun trying to wag their behinds. Children can also try shaking their heads like Sherman, sitting like Saul, and even fetching like Chupacabra.

The dogs in this book are so expressive and so beautifully photographed that children will feel compelled to copy their new canine friends by shaking, wiggling, and rolling.
