One day Russell is practicing his triple summersaults when a crow carrying a treasure map flies by. Seeing the map gives Russell a wonderful idea. He is going to try to find "the Lost Treasure of Frogsbottom" himself. To do this, Russell invents a truly fantastic machine - a "Super-Duper Treasure Seeker." Full of excitement the sheep sets off with his machine in hand.
Russell searches everywhere until he is quite worn out and very discouraged. He is just in the process of giving up the search, when his Seeker beeps and Russell finds the treasure under an old tree. When he opens the treasure chest Russell is very disappointed because instead of a treasure all he has found is "a bunch of useless stuff" and a very old camera. Surprisingly the camera still works, and soon Russell is taking pictures of his many friends and relatives. It is only when he gathers together the photos that he has taken that Russell realizes that perhaps he has found a treasure after all.
Once again the much celebrated Russell is sure to charm and amuse readers with his adventures, his expressive face, and his ever present blue and white striped hat. Funny illustrations full of interesting details perfectly capture Russell's enterprising spirit and his irrepressible joie de vie.
