Bill “Bojangles” Robinson was one of the greatest tap dancers of all time. His dancing was so spectacular and so exciting that it was as if he “made art with his feet,” and he “bought pleasure and joy to the people he’d greet.” Bojangles danced for the ladies and gentleman in their “fancy clothes,” and he also danced for everyday people, for people who did not have much money. His love of life and his enthusiasm for what he did endeared Bojangles to all kinds of people and wherever he went there was the “Rap a tap tap” of his fabulous dancing feet.
This delightful picture book is rich with wonderful paintings and a bouncing dancing text that pulls readers along with Bojangles’ tapping feet. Readers will appreciate that Bojangles was a one-of-a-kind man, and they will greatly enjoy this tribute to the dancer’s skill and his big heart.
