One day Paddington goes to the seaside, and he soon has company. A seagull comes along to see what the bear is doing, and the bird is not particularly pleased to see that Paddington is digging up the beach. Soon another seagull arrives on the beach, and it comments on the fact that Paddington has made a sand castle. More and more seagulls arrive, each one of which makes a comment about Paddington. They all seem to have a rather inflated opinion of themselves.
When seagull number seven flies in, he notices that Paddington has a bun in his pocket. The seagulls are hungry, and they set about planning how they can separate the bun from its furry owner.
Children are sure to enjoy this amusing Paddington counting book, especially when they see how Paddington has the last laugh at the end of the story. It is never a good idea to think that you can trick Paddington, especially where food is concerned.
