Sometimes basic concepts need to be presented in a different way to have an impact, or to catch the attention of the intended audience. In this little board book the author and illustrator have created an opposites book; with a difference. They not only show little children the differences between over and under, up and down, and black and white. They also introduce them to the ways in which form, color and patterns can have an impact on the senses.

Throughout the book a very simple text is accompanied by bold and bright cut-paper images, and children will be encouraged to look at the world around them through new eyes; eyes which notice shapes, colors, and the ways in which things can sometimes appear to be something that they are not. As they turn the sturdy board pages, children will be unconsciously learning about the basic principals of artistic composition.
