Birds come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. Most can fly, and quite a few species can travel for thousands of miles during their annual migration, journeying to warm climes during winter months. There are a few species of birds who cannot fly at all, but they make up for it by being more than competent swimmers or runners.

In this wonderful activity book we get to meet a colorful and varied collection of birds. The author shows us how very different they are, and how each kind of bird has an ability in which it excels, or a quality that is unique to it. For example, nightingales are renowned musicians in the bird world. The male birds serenade the females on spring nights, dazzling them (and human listeners) with their lovely songs.

Pelicans are unique because they have a beak that has a huge pouch attached to it. They use this beak as a fishing net and a carrier bag. Hummingbirds are also unique because they are so tiny, and for their size they move incredibly fast. They can also hover in flight and fly backwards.

In this wonderful interactive book, the author offers her readers lots of great information about birds, and she gives us beautiful artwork that we can add to in a number of ways. On some pages we are asked to color or draw certain elements, and in others we are asked to add stickers to the scene. In all there are 104 stickers to add to the artwork and twenty-five activities to complete. At the back of the book readers will find a quiz, which they can use to see how much they have learned in their bird-filled journey.
