From a very early age many children develop a fondness for animals. They want to pat dogs they meet when they are out, and cuddle bunnies and other soft animals that they encounter at a petting zoo. In this book little children will meet five different animals that people keep as pets.

On the first spread we are told that the animal we are looking at is “very fluffy and soft” and that it likes to “hop.” The picture shows us a lovely soft brown rabbit and when we stroke its furry chest, we can see for ourselves that this animal really is very soft indeed.

On the next spread we meet an animal that is “cute and cuddly.” This pet, a little brown puppy with big sad eyes, likes to say “woof,” and when we touch its chest we feel a surface that is smooth and velvety.

Throughout this splendid title beautiful photographs are paired with engaging sections of text and interesting textured surfaces that children can touch.
