Just like human mothers, many animal mothers carry their babies around with them. They too want to make sure that their children are close and safe. As many of these caring mamas don’t have hands, they have to find other ways to transport their little ones from place to place.

A mother tiger, for example, carries her cubs around in her mouth, and a mama koala carries her joey on her back. Another joey, this time one belonging to a kangaroo mother, sits in comfort inside its mother’s pouch as she hops across the countryside.

A sea otter mother floats on her back and her pup lies on her chest. She holds it there with her paws, keeping it safe and warm.

Little children are going to love seeing how animal mothers of all kinds carry their babies around, snuggling them close.
