One winter’s morning a beautiful and large snowflake lands on the end of Little Squirrel’s nose. Big Squirrel, Bigger Squirrel, and Biggest Squirrel all have ideas of what they would like to do with the snowflake, but Little Squirrel insists that the snowflake is his. “But it’s MINE!” he shouts.

Determined to safeguard his precious snowflake, Little Squirrel builds a secure nest in a tree, and then he climbs in with his snowflake. Now no one can take his snowflake away from him. “Mine, all mine,” he says as he snuggles his snowflake close. Little Squirrel is happy with his situation until he realizes that there are some disadvantages to staying in a nest all alone with only a snowflake for company.

This delightful picture book with its glitter touched art and its loveable main character, explores the idea that sharing some much-loved object with others might not be as bad as it seems. Sometimes sharing something is actually more enjoyable than insisting that it is “mine, all mine.”
