Within the pages of this book you are going to meet a bear who has the most wonderful approach to life, who is funny, and who is very much like you or me except that he seems to have a bottomless well of optimism, self confidence, and determination. Most important of all, this brown, fluffy character likes himself.
As we tour the pages, watching the bear order bread in French, jumping off very high diving boards, and refusing to be intimidated by policemen, our admiration grows by leaps and bounds. We are therefore surprised to learn that this bear, this wonderful character, has days when things don’t go so well, and on those days he does the one thing that makes him feel better – he goes to spend time with those who love him.
With simple illustrations and a minimal text this is a book for everyone who has bad days. The story celebrates the fact that the love of friends and family members really can make life better. Gentle humor ripples off the pages, and we can tell that the author clearly understands human (or bear) nature.
