A little bear is spending the day with its mother and it follows “her footsteps / as we go out to play.” The bears begin by making daisy chains and the little bear thinks its mother is very clever because she is able to make a long chain. Next, they go and roar into the mouth of a cave, and the little bear marvels at the “magical echoes” that it hears, one which is big and one which is small.
Later the two bears go for a swim and the little bear wishes that one day it will be as good a swimmer as its mother is. When they get out of the water Mom dries off by wiggling her bottom and shaking, and her little cub follows suit.
In this sweet board book soft illustrations are paired with rhyming verse to capture the special and loving bond that exists between a little bear cub and its mother. Children and their mothers will love sharing this title.
