Sometimes the most important things that mothers give their children are the simplest things. The arms that hold and cuddle are priceless. Then there are the storytimes, the trips to the park and to the zoo, the lessons taught, and the achievements praised. These are just some of the precious things that mothers give their children.

In this very special picture book, Mary Ann McCabe Riehle explores the things mothers bring into the lives of children all over the world. Incidentally, she also highlights some special moments that children give their mothers. There are the Mother's Day breakfasts, the hugs, the I love yous, and the triumphs that warm a mother's heart.

For every letter of the alphabet, the author of this unique alphabet book gives her readers a picture of a one of the many important things that fill a child's life. There is a short poem for each letter, and in a side bar there is more text explaining further the meaning behind the poem or poems. Many of the side bars also include quotes from people such as Mother Teresa, Benjamin Franklin, Mr. Rogers, and Drew Barrymore.

Combined with Chris Ellison's lovely art, the text and poems in this special book will warm reader's hearts and remind them that mothers are too be treasured.
