Parents do so many things for their children every day. They feed them, dress them, play with them, watch over them, and so much more. There are a few essentials things that they do that are particularly important, things that will have a lifelong impact on their children.
In this wonderful board book a parent narrator tells the reader that “There are three things I’ll always do…love you, hug you, read to you!” Reading will be one of those things that will be shared on a regular basis no matter what, day or night, spring, summer, fall and winter.
As the pages turn, we meet all kinds of animal parents with their child or children. There is a cat with her kittens, a polar bear with its cub, a horse with its foal, bunnies with their kit, and many more.
An added feature found in this book are the three questions that appear on every spread. The questions are “for your little reader,” and they give the book an interactive element that both children and their grownups will enjoy. When combined with the rhyming text and the sweet artwork, these questions give little children a wonderful bookish experience.
