A little boy astronaut is on a planet out in space. Dressed in his space suit, he climbs into his rocket while a robot brings his luggage to the space vessel. Soon the astronaut and his canine companion are “blasting through the sky,” and the robot is waving goodbye to the space travelers.
Through the windows of the rocket, the boy and the dog can see a star, some planets, and three comets. The two friends decide to go for a spacewalk near a red planet. Something with a “friendly face” is looking out at them from the surface of the planet.
In this delightful little board book young children get to go on a space adventure with a little boy and his dog. There are lots of cut outs to look through, and on every spread children are asked to find something in the scene that they are looking at. The narrative comes to a close with a perfect ending that little space travelers will greatly appreciate.
