Three little duckling are in a forest and they are lost. The oldest and the middle ducklings do their best to lead the way and to encourage each other and their little brother. The littlest duckling, who is very little indeed, misses their mother very much and he tells his big brothers that his "legs feel all wobbly."

The oldest brother decides to teach the littlest duckling One Step. The trick is for the duckling to say "One Step" as he walks. Because he is paying such close attention to saying "one step" he is too busy to miss his Mama and to notice that his legs feel wobbly.

So on the ducklings go through the forest and the only time the littlest duckling has trouble is when he forgets to say "one step." In fact he becomes so good at saying and doing One Step that his brother decides to name him Little One Step.

Every journey has to begin somewhere and little children will see, as they take this very important expedition with a charming trio of ducklings, that taking that first step can be very important indeed. With his "one step" to guide him, the littlest duckling is able to travel a very long way indeed.
