One day Old Bear is reading a story about dragons to Little Bear. Little Bear is wondering if there really are dragons in the world when Old Bear suggests that they make Little Bear a dragon costume to wear. Together the teddy bears create a wonderful costume and the perfect dragon cave. It turns out that they create such a convincing dragon that the other toys are quite frightened by the terrible beast. So while the little dragon sleeps (Little Bear can’t help dozing off inside his ‘cave’) the other toys set about building their own big dragon which they hope will scare off the little one.
This charmingly funny little story and three others make this book a wonderful collection for teddy bear fans of all ages. Jane Hissey’s characters have delighted children for many years. Little Bear and Old Bear have the perfect loving and comfortable relationship that all children deserve to have with the grownups in their lives.
