Triange Shirtwaist Factory fire

The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory, located in New York City, produced women's blouses. The factory employed mostly young, immigrant women, and in 1911 a disastrous fire broke out in the factory and 148 women died. Something positive did arise from the ashes of this disaster, including improved factory safety laws and eventually improved working conditions for others in the industry.
