Berlin Airlift

In 1948, the city of Berlin was sealed off from the world by Russian forces. Determined not to abandon the people of Berlin, the allies flew cargo planes to Berlin and delivered hundreds of thousands of tons of supplies on the city so that the people would have enough food, clothing, and other supplies to survive. This was not easy for the allies who were still recovered from the effects of World War II.
