1900 Galveston Hurricane

The 1900 Galveston Hurricane hit Galveston, Texas on September 8th, 1900. This hurricane was extremely powerful, with winds estimated at 135 miles per hour (218 kph). The death toll was estimated at around 8,000, making this the worst natural disaster in American history.
