George Eastman

George Eastman was instrumental in photography - he invented roll film. He also patented a camera that could use roll film, and his film was the basis for the invention of the motion picture (movie). He was the founder of the Eastman Kodak Company, which is still active in photography today. For more on other inventions, see the Inventors and Inventions feature.
