Coretta Scott King

Coretta Scott King was the wife of Martin Luther King, Jr. She helped her husband in his civil rights work, and after his death she continued to do what she could to further the cause of civil rights in America and in other countries around the world. The Coretta Scott King Award in named in her honor. This annual award recognizes the work of African-American children's book authors and illustrators.
