One morning, Bear looks up at the sky and gazes at the clouds. He sniffs the air hopefully, and then he jumps up and down with a big smile on his face. “Kite Day!” he shouts out loud.

Bear runs home and in a state of great excitement, he tells Mole that “Kite Day is here!” Bear collects supplies and Mole reads a book about how to make kites. Then the two friends get to work and they make a beautiful big yellow kite.

Happily, Bear and Mole run out into the meadow and they launch their kite high into the air. Higher and higher it goes, which is when some dark heavy storm clouds arrive on the scene. Before Bear and Mole can retrieve their beautiful kite, the wind breaks the string and the kite takes off.

Poor Bear and Mole chase after their kite, hoping that they can save it. Where it is going to end up?

In this sweet Bear and Mole adventure, we see how two friends work together to make something special, and how they learn that sometimes losing something you care about is not as bad as it seems.

Children will love the way the ending in this book, which seems destined to end on a rather unhappy note, changes dramatically at the last minute to give us an ending that we can all feel happy with.
