Katy Duck loves to dress up and she is therefore delighted when her aunt sends her a multicolored boa for a present. Katy is a dancer and she is sure that dance stars wear their boas everywhere, and so this is what Katy does. Unfortunately, Katy's boa becomes rather a nuisance when she visits the museum and when she tries to play on the playground. It gets wrapped around things and people in a most frustrating way
In spite of this, Katy is determined to wear her boa to her dance class. After all, "all dance stars" wear boas. What Katy soon discovers is that dance stars do not wear their boas during their dance lessons. Boas and dance lessons most definitely do not mix. What is to be done about Katy and her boa?
Little children who love to dress up will immediately find themselves identifying with Katy Duck in this charming little story. Who doesn't love boas? They are the height of fashion after all. The pickles that Katy gets into because of her boa will make young readers laugh, and they will find the ending very satisfactory indeed.
With comical illustrations and a very lovable main character, this board book story is sure to become a firm favorite with duck fans, ballet fans, and boa fans alike.
