Welcome to Through the Looking Glass

Welcome to the November and December issue of Through the Looking Glass Children’s Book Reviews. As you can see, TTLG has a new look. I hope that you find this new site easier to use, and even more informative than the old one was.

As always, the books reviewed on TTLG are carefully chosen by the editor. We only review books that we like, and we feel that we have something to offer readers. Therefore, all our reviews are positive ones. We hope this will help you to find excellent books for the young people in your lives. If you are looking for books for yourself, we hope you will find books that you will enjoy reading. Please consider buying books through this website. Your purchases help to support our work, and give us the means to improve this online resource.

For this issue I focused much of my time on finding books that would make good gifts. The holidays are just around the corner and books make splendid gifts for people of all ages who love to read. Though these titles are for young people, many of them would delight adults who enjoy collecting,  looking at, and reading children’s literature.  You will find gift worthy titles in the the following Current Issue sections:

Novelty and Board Books, Picture Books, Fiction 4 to 12, and Fiction 12 and up.

Do keep in mind that the Award Winning Books and Editor’s Choice titles also make excellent gifts.

:Bookish Events for November and December:

  • National Author’s Day – November 1 (USA)
  • National Young Reader’s Day – November 10th (USA)
  • Canadian Children’s Book Week – November 14th – 21st
  • Universal Children’s Day – November 20th

I hope you will find a way to celebrate some, if not all, of these bookish events. If I have missed an important bookish event, please drop me a line and tell me all about it.

Please don’t forget to check out the TTLG blog. You will find reviews, articles, and interviews here.

All the best,

Marya
