Little children love looking for hidden things, which is probably why they are happy to play hide-and-seek for hours on end. In this charming little board book Taro Gomi presents us with eleven illustrations that have an object hidden in them.

We begin with a picture of two roosters. Somewhere in the picture, we are told, one of the roosters is hiding a pink glove. At first we cannot imagine how such a thing could be possible, but then we see the glove and then we cannot imagine how we did not see it straight away!

Later in the book we see a picture of four raccoons. We are looking for a brown, orange, and blue striped sock (a picture is provided so that we know what to look for). One would think that it would be easy to find such a sock, but the raccoons have stripy tails and somehow the sock remains stubbornly hidden.

Little children are going to have a grand time looking for the hidden objects in this book. They may  notice that this title is also formatted so that it can serve as a counting book.
