Henry and Mudge love winter because both of them love snow. Anxiously they wait for the first snow of the season to arrive. They wait and wait until, at last, they wake up to see that it is snowing outside. Soon the two friends are making snow angels, building snow forts, and having a wonderful time.

On Christmas Eve, Henry’s house sparkles with lights and ornaments. His parents do a lot of cooking, and that evening Henry and his family have a “fancy” Christmas Eve dinner. They even invite Mudge to join them.

For this charming book, Cynthia Rylant has created three charming seasonal stories. Readers will get a picture of wintertime joys and festivities, and they will be left with a feeling of warmth and comfort.
