Christmas is almost here and Henry and Mudge are having a splendid time getting ready for the big day. The relatives are going to be coming over to breakfast on Christmas Day and the plan is to send them all home with bags of homemade Christmas cookies. And so Henry gets to work cutting out cookie hearts, cookie trucksm cookie birds, cookie houses, cookie bunnies, and cookie books. Mudge does a great job cleaning up the floor.

On Christmas Eve everything is perfect. The tree is beautiful, the candles are "glowing," and Henry, Mudge, and Henry's parents decide to go caroling with Henry's cousin Annie and Uncle Ed.

With three chapters to read, this Henry and Mudge title warmly embodies the pleasures of a family Christmas celebration. Young readers who have met Henry and Mudge before will enjoy sharing this holiday with the little boy and his enormous dog.
