Sometimes, as a little boy goes about his day, people tell him to “sit still,” “be quiet,” “pay attention,” and “focus.” The thing is that the boy is a dreamer and even though he is told to follow these rules his dreams have other ideas.
In his daydreams he hears the beat of music, he sees things that other people don’t see, he sees colors. He can even experience all these dreams things – and more – when the lights are out. In the dark he can create glorious dreams that are big and bright like “fireworks.”
Of course, there are times when he feels alone and “boxed in,” which is when his dreams are needed more than ever.
This marvelous book celebrates all those wonderful people who allow their daydreams to have a free reign in their lives. In so doing they go to places where anything and everything can happen, a place where creativity has no limits. Some may think that dreamers are lost souls, but in fact their dreams make them strong, and resilient.
With wonderful artwork, and including a delightful gatefold surprise at the end of the narrative, this picture book will appeal to children and adults alike.
